1. This Order may be cited as the
Local Government Act, 1994
(Commencement) (No. 2) Order, 1996.
2. In this Order, "the Act" means the
Local Government Act, 1994
(No. 8 of 1994), unless it is indicated that reference to some other enactment is intended.
3. Section 4(1) of and the First Schedule to the Act shall come into operation on the 16th day of September, 1996 to the extent specified in the Schedule to this Order.
4. Section 4(2) of and the Second Schedule to the Act shall come into operation on the 16th day of September, 1996 for the purpose of the amendment of the
Local Government Act, 1991
(No. 11 of 1991 ) in the manner stated in column 3 of that Schedule.
5. Section 24 of the Act shall come into operation on the 16th day of September, 1996.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.
This Order provides for the commencement of
section 24
of the
Local Government Act, 1994
and for the repeal and amendment of various enactments.
