ARTERIAL DRAINAGE (BALLINAMORE/ BALLYCONNELL JOINT COMMITTEE) REGULATIONS, 1996.

The Minister for the Environment in exercise of the powers conferred on him by sub-sections (3) and (4) of

Section 23

of the

Arterial Drainage Act, 1945

, (No. 3 of 1945), hereby makes the following regulations:—

1 Citation.

1.

These regulations may be cited as the Arterial Drainage (Ballinamore/Ballyconnell Joint Committee) Regulations, 1996.

2 Interpretation.

(i) In these Regulations the expression "constituent council" in relation to the drainage district means the county council named in the second column of the Schedule to these Regulations opposite the name of the drainage district in the first column of the said Schedule;

(ii) In these Regulations the expression "joint committee" means a joint committee of Cavan and Leitrim County Councils appointed for the control and management of the Ballinamore/Ballyconnell drainage district.

3 Election of Members.

Each constituent council shall, as soon as may be, after the date hereof, elect to the joint committee of the drainage district the number of members of such council specified in the third column of the Schedule hereto and thereafter similarly so elect such number of members at the annual meeting next held after the election of members to each such council.
