1. This Order may be cited as the

Pensions Act, 1990

(Parts I and II) (Commencement) Order, 1990.

2. Parts I and II of the

Pensions Act, 1990

shall come into operation on the 21st day of December, 1990.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

This Order brings into effect the provisions of Parts I and II of the

Pensions Act, 1990

.

Part I of the Act provides for offences and penalties for contravention of the Act and contains standard provisions in relation to interpretation, regulations, etc.

Part II provides for the establishment of a body to be known as An Bord Pinsean — The Pensions Board and for other related matters.
