S.I. No. 286/1990 - Road Traffic (Licensing of Trailers and Semi-Trailers) (Amendment) Regulations, 1990.

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Road Traffic (Licensing of Trailers and Semi-Trailers) (Amendment) Regulations, 1990.

2. These Regulations and the Road Traffic (Licensing of Trailers and Semi-Trailers) Regulations, 1982 and 1983 shall be construed as one and may be cited together as the Road Traffic (Licensing of Trailers and Semi-Trailers) Regulations, 1982 to 1990.

3. Article 2 of the Road Traffic (Licensing of Trailers and Semi-Trailers) Regulations, 1982 (

S.I. No. 35 of 1982

) is hereby amended by the substitution of the following sub-article for sub-article (3):—

"(3) These Regulations shall not apply to—

(

a

) a vehicle belonging to or used for official purpose by the Defence Forces or by the Garda Síochána, or

(

b

) a vehicle which is the property of a person engaged in agriculture and which is designed and used primarily for work on the land and which is used on a public road only incidentally to such work.".

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

These Regulations exclude agricultural trailers from the requirement to be licensed under the Road Traffic (Licensing of Trailers and Semi-Trailers) Regulations, 1982 and 1983.

section 10

of the

Road Traffic Act, 1968

(No. 25 of 1968), hereby makes the following Regulations:—
