1. This Order may be cited as the

Social Welfare Act, 1990

(Part IV) (Commencement) Order, 1990.

2. Chapter 5B of the

Social Welfare (Consolidation) Act, 1981

(inserted by section 17 of the of the

Social Welfare Act, 1990

) and

section 18

of the

Social Welfare Act, 1990

) and

section 18

of the

Social Welfare Act, 1990

shall come into operation on the 1st day of November, 1990.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

This Order brings into effect the provisions of Part IV of the

Social Welfare Act, 1990

, which provides for the introduction of the carer's allowance, from 1st November, 1990.
