The purpose of these Regulations is to provide unemployed persons who would be entitled to unemployment benefit and long-term unemployment assistance with an option of receiving either payment. The Regulations provide that once an option is made to receive unemployment assistance it can only be revoked if the rate of unemployment assistance which he is entitled is reduced.
