1. This Order may be cited as the

Control of Dogs Act, 1986

, (Commencement) Order, 1987.

2. In this Order—

"the Act" means the

Control of Dogs Act, 1986

.

3. On the 1st day of February, 1987—

(

a

) sections 1, 9, 10, 11, 12, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 28, 29, 31, 32, 33, 34, 35, 36 and 37 of the Act shall come into operation;

(

b

) subsections (1), (2), (3) and (4) of section 13 of the Act shall come into operation;

(

c

) paragraphs (

b

), (

d

) and (

e

) of subsection (2) and subsections (3), (4), (5) and (6) of section 27 of the Act shall come into operation;

(

d

) subsection (1) of section 30 of the Act shall come into operation.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

This Order brings into operation on 1st February, 1987, the provisions of the

Control of Dogs Act, 1986

, with the exception of those provisions relating to the licensing of dogs.

section 37

of the

Control of Dogs Act, 1986

(No. 32 of 1986), hereby orders as follows:—
