S.I. No. 103/1987 - Seanad Electoral (Charges of Returning Officers in University Constituencies) Order, 1987.

1. This Order may be cited as the Seanad Electoral Charges of Returning Officers in University Constituencies Order, 1987.

2. The

Interpretation Act, 1937

(No. 38 of 1937), applies to this Order.

3. The scale of maximum charges for returning officers in university constituencies prescribed by the Seanad Electoral (Charges of Returning Officers in University Constituencies) Order, 1983 (

S.I. No. 23 of 1983

), shall not apply to any election to Seanad Éireann in a university constituency as regards which, pursuant to

section 23

(1) of the

Seanad Electoral (University Members) Act 1937

(No. 30 of 1937), a declaration is made by the returning officer after the commencement of this Order.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

This Order revokes the Seanad Electoral (Charges of Returning Officers in University Constituencies) Order, 1983 (

S.I. No. 23 of 1983

) which set out a scale of maximum charges for returning officers in university constituencies.
