EXPLANATORY NOTE.

These Regulations are made to give effect to Commission Directive No. 85/146/EEC adapting to technical progress Council Directive No. 73/362/EEC, as last amended by Council Directive No. 78/629/EEC, on the approximation of the laws of the Member States relating to material measures of length.
