1. This Order may be cited as the

Local Government (Reorganisation) Act, 1985

, (County Borough of Galway) (Appointed Day) Order, 1985.

2. The 1st day of January, 1986 shall be the appointed day for the purposes of

section 5

of the

Local Government (Reorganisation) Act, 1985

GIVEN under the Official Seal of the Minister for the Environment this

18th day of December, 1985.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

This order appoints 1st January, 1986 as the appointed day for the purposes of

section 5

of the

Local Government (Reorganisation) Act, 1985

. On that day the Borough of Galway becomes a County Borough.
