S.I. No. 6/1984 - Local Elections (Specification of Local Election Year) Order, 1984.

1. This Order may be cited as the Local Elections (Specification of Local Election Year) Order, 1984.

2. The election of members of every local authority falling to be held in the year 1984 pursuant to

section 81

of the

Electoral Act, 1963

, as amended, shall be held in the year 1985.

GIVEN under the Official Seal of the Minister for the Environment this

12th day of January, 1984.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

This Order shall not come into operation unless and until a copy of the Order has been laid before each House of the Oireachtas and the Order has been confirmed by resolution of each such House. The effect of the Order is to postpone to 1985 the local elections otherwise due to be held in 1984.
