2. The 25th day of January, 1983, is hereby appointed to be the day on which the
Merchant Shipping Act, 1981
(No. 33 of 1981), shall come into operation.

MERCHANT SHIPPING ACT, 1981 (COMMENCEMENT) ORDER, 1983.
The Government, in exercise of the power conferred on them by
section 15
(2) of the
Merchant Shipping Act, 1981
(No. 33 of 1981), hereby order as follows:—
