S.I. No. 116/1982 - Industrial Training (Engineering Committee) (Amendment) Order, 1982.

1. This Order may be cited as the Industrial Training (Engineering Committee) (Amendment) Order, 1982.

2. In this Order "the Order of 1969" means the Industrial Training (Engineering Committee) Order, 1969 as amended.

3. The Industrial Training (Engineering Committee) Order, 1969, the Industrial Training (Engineering Committee) (Amendment) Order, 1975, the Industrial Training (Engineering Committee) (Amendment) Order, 1981 and this Order may be cited together as the Industrial Training (Engineering Committee) Orders, 1969 to 1982.

4. Article 3 of the Order of 1969 is hereby amended by the substitution of "twenty four" for "eighteen".

5. The following Article is hereby substituted for Article 5 of the Order of 1969

"5. The ordinary members of the Committee shall include ten workers' members, ten employers' members, one educational member and three other ordinary members."

6. The following paragraphs are hereby substituted for paragraphs (

b

) and (

d

) in Article 6 of the Order of 1969

"(

b

) after consultation with the Minister invite an organisation or organisations representative of employers to nominate persons for appointment as employers' members and shall employ ten persons from the persons so nominated to be the employers' members.".

"(

d

) after consultation with such organisations as An Chomhairle considers suitable, appoint three persons to be the other ordinary members.".

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

An Chomhairle Oiliúna (The Industrial Training Authority) was established under the

Industrial Training Act, 1967

, to promote training in industry and commerce.

The Industrial Training (Engineering Committee) Order, 1969 (

S.I. No. 121 of 1969

) established an industrial training committee, to be known as the Engineering Industry Training Committee, to advise and assist An Chomhairle as respects the performance of its functions.

This Order amends the Industrial Training (Engineering Committee) Order, 1969, by increasing the number of ordinary committee members to twenty-four.
