S.I. No. 92/1980 - Disabled Persons (Maintenance Allowances) (Amendment) Regulations, 1980.

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Disabled Persons (Maintenance Allowances) (Amendment) Regulations, 1980.

2. Article 4 of the Disabled Persons (Maintenance Allowances) Regulations, 1973 (

S.I. No. 160 of 1973

) is hereby amended by the substitution for sub-article (4) (as substituted by article 2 of the Disabled Persons (Maintenance Allowance) (Amendment) (No. 2) Regulations 1979 (

S.I. No. 338 of 1979

) of the following sub-article:—

"(4)A maintenance allowance payable in accordance with this article shall with effect from the 1st April, 1980 be at a rate not exceeding £20.25 pence per week".

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

The effect of these Regulations is to increase, as from the 1st April, 1980, the maximum weekly rate of maintenance allowance payable under

Section 69

of the

Health Act, 1970

, to twenty pounds and twenty-five pence.

The Minister for Health, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by

section 5

of the

Health Act, 1947

(No. 28 of 1947) and by

sections 69

and

72

of the

Health Act, 1970

(No. 1 of 1970), hereby makes the following Regulations—
