1. (1) These Regulations may be cited as the Social Welfare (Disability and Unemployment Benefit) (Amendment) (No. 2) Regulations, 1979.

(2) These Regulations shall be included in the collective citation of the Social Welfare (Disability and Unemployment Benefit) Regulations, 1953 to 1979.

2. These Regulations shall come into operation on the 1st day of October, 1979.

3. The following Schedule shall be substituted for the First Schedule to the Social Welfare (Disability, Unemployment and Marriage Benefit) Regulations, 1953 (

) as amended by article 3 of the Social Welfare (Disability and Unemployment Benefit) (Amendment) Regulations, 1979 (

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

These Regulations provide for increases in the existing statutory reduced rates of disability benefit and unemployment benefit payable where the contribution condition in respect of the governing contribution year is only partially satisfied. The new rates are payable from 1 October, 1979.

The Minister for Social Welfare, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by

(No. 11 of 1952) and with the sanction of the Minister for Finance, hereby makes the following Regulations:—
