Statutory Text (4 Articles)
1. These Regulations may be cited as the European Communities (Wire-Ropes, Chains and Hooks) Regulations, 1979.
2. These Regulations shall come into operation on the 15th day of June, 1979.
3. Nothing contained in any Enactment or Regulation specified in the Schedule to these Regulations shall be construed as prohibiting or restricting, for reasons of certification or marking, the placing on the market of lifting equipment referred to in Article 1 of Council Directive 73/361/EEC of the 19th day of November, 1973.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.
These Regulations stipulate that nothing contained in the
Factories Act, 1955
and the
Mines and Quarries Act, 1965
, or in relevant regulations made under either Act, shall be construed, for reasons of certification or marking, as prohibiting or restricting the placing on the market of certain lifting equipment.
