1. (1) This Order may be cited as the District Court Districts and Areas (Amendment) and Variation of Days Order, 1978.
(2) This Order shall come into operation on the 1st day of September, 1978.
2. In this Order "the Principal Order" means the District Court (Areas) Order, 1961 (
S.I. No. 5 of 1961
).
3. The District Court Area of Sixmilebridge is hereby varied by the deletion from the district electoral divisions mentioned in column (5) at reference number 24 in the First Schedule to, and in column (5) at reference number 20 in the Second Schedule to, the Principal Order of the district electoral divisions of Clenagh and Drumline.
4. The First Schedule to the Principal Order is hereby amended by the insertion after reference number 23 in column (1), (2), (3), (4) and (5), respectively, of the following:—
"23A
County of Clare
District Court Area of Shannon
Shannon—Second Thursday of each month at 11 a.m.
The area comprising the District Electoral Divisions of Clenagh and Drumline in the County of Clare."
5. The Second Schedule to the Principal Order is hereby amended by the insertion after reference number 19 in columns (1), (2), (3), (4) and (5), respectively, of the following
"19A
County of Clare
District Court Area of Shannon
Shannon—Second Thursday in each month at 11 a.m.
The area comprising the District Electoral Divisions of Clenagh and Drumline in the County of Clare."
6. District Court District Number 12 mentioned at reference number 12 in both the First and Second Schedules to the District Court (Districts) Order, 1961 (
S.I. No. 6 of 1961
), is hereby varied by the addition to the District Court Areas specified in column (3) of the District Court Area of Shannon.
7. The District Court Areas (Amendment) Order, 1970 (
S.I. No. 161 of 1970
), is hereby amended by the insertion in column (4) at reference number 12 after "Milltown Malbay" of "Shannon" and after "23" of "23A".
8. The days for holding the District Court in the district court area of Corofin shall, in lieu of the days specified in column (4) at reference number 15 in the First Schedule to the Principal Order, be the second Monday in January, March, May, July, September and November.
9. The days for holding the District Court in the district court area of Sixmilebridge shall, in lieu of the days specified in column (4) at reference number 24 in the First Schedule to, and the days specified in column (4) at reference number 20 in the Second Schedule to, the Principal Order, be the fourth Thursday in January, March, May, July, September and November.
10. The days for holding the District Court in the district court area of Tulla shall, in lieu of the days specified in column (4) at reference number 21 in the Second Schedule to the Principal Order, be the first Thursday in each month.
11. The days for holding the District Court in the district court area of Killaloe shall, in lieu of the days specified in column (4) at reference number 18 in the Second Schedule to the Principal Order, be the third Monday in each month.
12. Business transacted in the District Court which is initiated and is not completed before the commencement of this Order shall be continued and completed as if this Order had been in force at the time at which such business had been initiated.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.
This Order provides for the establishment of a new District Court Area to be known as the District Court Area of Shannon and specifies the place, days and times of sittings of the District Court in the new Area. The Order also provides for certain alterations to the days appointed for sittings of the District Court in Sixmilebridge, Corofin, Tulla and Killaloe.
