S.I. No. 13/1973 - Restriction of Imports (Fertilisers From East Germany) (Amendment) Order, 1973.

1. (1) This Order may be cited as the Restriction of Imports (Fertilisers from East Germany) (Amendment) Order, 1973.

(2) This Order shall come into operation on the 25th day of January, 1973.

2. The Restriction of Imports (Fertilisers from East Germany) Order, 1967 (

S.I. No. 254 of 1967

), is hereby amended by—

(

a

) the substitution in Article 2 for "Imposition of Duties (No. 159) (Customs Duties and Form of Customs Tariff) Order, 1966 (

S.I. No. 132 of 1966

)" of "Imposition of Duties (No. 200) (Customs and Excise Duties and Form of Tariff) Order, 1972 (

S.I. No. 220 of 1972

)",

and

(

b

) the insertion after Article 3 of the following

" 4. This Order shall not apply to fertilisers of a kind specified in the Annex to Council Regulation 109/70/ EEC*".

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

The 1967 Order, which this Order amends, prohibited the import of fertilisers from East Germany except under licence issued by the Minister for Agriculture and Fisheries. This Order excludes from the scope of the 1967 Order fertilisers of a kind specified in the Annex to EEC Regulation No. 109/70. The fertilisers currently specified in that Annex are those shown under Tariff Headings Nos. 31.01, 31.02A, 31.03, 31.04 and 31.05B in the "Customs and Excise Tariff of Ireland".
