1. These bye-laws may be cited as the Cork Traffic Bye-Laws, 1971.

2. These bye-laws shall apply to the area comprising the county borough of Cork.

3. These bye-laws revoke the Cork Traffic Bye-Laws, 1939 (S.R. and O., 134 of 1939), the Cork Traffic (Amendment) Bye-Laws, 1949 (
S.I. No. 173 of 1949
), the Cork Traffic (Amendment) Bye-Laws, 1956 (
S.I. No. 317 of 1956
), and the Cork Traffic (Amendment) Bye-Laws, 1958 (
S.I. No. 28 of 1958
).

4. Bye-Law 4 provides that a driver shall comply with a prohibition, restriction or requirement indicated by means of a traffic sign.
