1. (1) These Regulations may be cited as the Committees of Agriculture (Officers' Travelling Expenses and Maintenance Allowance and Expenses) (Amendment) Regulations, 1971.
(2) The Committees of Agriculture (Officers' Travelling Expenses and Maintenance Allowance and Expenses) Regulations, 1965 to 1970, and these Regulations may be cited together as the Committees of Agriculture (Officers' Travelling Expenses and Maintenance Allowance and Expenses) Regulations, 1965 to 1971.
2. This Order shall come into operation on the 15th day of February, 1971.
3. The
Interpretation Act, 1937
(No. 38 of 1937), applies to these Regulations.

), is hereby amended by—
(
a
) The substitution of "£0.0573" and "£0.0291" for "one shilling and 1.75 pence" and "seven pence" respectively in paragraph 4 (1) (
e

(
b
) the substitution of "£0.0625" and "£0.0323" for "one shilling and three pence" and "7.75 pence" respectively in paragraph 4(1) (
f
),
(
c
) the substitution of "£0.0739" and "£0.0375" for "one shilling and 5.75 pence" and "ninepence" respectively in paragraph 4 (1) (
g
).
(
d
) the substitution of "£3.325" for "sixty-six shillings and sixpence" in both places where that expression occurs and of "£3.0625" for "sixty-one shillings and three pence" in paragraph 10 (
a
),
(
e
) the substitution of "£2.9875" and "£2.55" for "fifty-nine shillings and nine pence" and "fifty-one shillings" respectively in each place where those expressions occur in subparagraphs (
b
) and (
c
) of paragraph 10,
(

) the substitution of "£2.50" for "fifty shillings" in both places where that expression occurs and of "£2.0625" for "forty-one shillings and three pence" in paragraph 10 (

) the substitution of "£0.526" for "ten shillings and sixpence" in paragraph 11 (

) the substitution of "£0.45" for "nine shillings" in subparagraphs (

EXPLANATORY NOTE.
These regulations provide for the conversion into decimal currency as from 15th February, 1971, of the rates of maintenance expenses in the form of night and day allowances and of the rates of travelling expenses payable to officers of Committees of Agriculture.

of the

section 6
of the
Agriculture (Amendment) Act, 1958
(No. 17 of 1958), as adapted by the Agriculture (Alteration of Name of Department and Title of Minister) Order, 1965 (

), hereby make the following regulations:—
