1. (1) These Regulations may be cited as the Social Welfare (Disability, Unemployment and Marriage Benefit) (Amendment) Regulations 1971.

(2) These Regulations shall be included in the expression "the Social Welfare (Disability, Unemployment and Marriage Benefit) Regulations, 1953 to 1971".

2. These Regulations shall come into operation on the 4 October 1971.

3. The following Schedule shall be substituted for the First Schedule to the Social Welfare (Disability, Unemployment and Marriage Benefit) Regulations, 1953 (

S.I. No. 7 of 1953

) as amended by article 3 of the Social Welfare (Disability, Unemployment and Marriage Benefit) (Amendment) Regulations, 1970 (

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

Consequent on the increase in the maximum rates of disability and unemployment benefit effected by the

Social Welfare Act, 1971

, these Regulations amend the Social Welfare (Disability, Unemployment and Marriage Benefit) Regulations, 1953 (

S.I. No. 7 of 1953

) for the purpose of increasing the reduced rates of benefit payable where the contribution condition in respect of the governing contribution year is only partially satisfied.
