1. This Order may be cited as the Seanad Electoral (Charges of Returning Officers in University Constituencies) Order, 1965.

2. The

Interpretation Act, 1937

(No. 38 of 1937), applies to this Order.

3. Subparagraph (

b

) of paragraph (1) of Part A of the Schedule to the Seanad Electoral (Charges of Returning Officers in University Constituencies) Order, 1961 (

S.I. No. 211 of 1961

), as amended by paragraph (

b

) of Article 3 of the Seanad Electoral (Charges of Returning Officers in University Constituencies) (No. 2) Order, 1961 (

S.I. No. 277 of 1961

), is hereby amended by the substitution of "£4" for "£3 5s. 0d.".

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

This Order increases the amount which may be disbursed by Returning Officers in University Constituencies, per 100 electors or fraction thereof exceeding one half on the register of electors, in respect of clerical and other assistance, including the counting of the votes and miscellaneous outlay, in connection with an election to Seanad Éireann.
