1. This Order may be cited as the Imposition of Duties (No. 137) (Wooden Furniture) Order, 1963.
2. This Order shall come into operation on the 1st day of October, 1963.
3. In this Order "the Principal Order" means the Imposition of Duties (No. 128) (Customs Duties and Form of Customs Tariff) Order, 1962 (
S.I. No. 163 of 1962
).
4. The duty of customs imposed by paragraph 5 of and mentioned at tariff heading number 44.20 in the Schedule to the Principal Order is hereby varied—
(
a
) by the substitution for the matter in the first column of that Schedule at that tariff heading number of the following
"Wooden picture frames, photograph frames, mirror frames and the like
(A) Picture frames, and photograph frames ... ...
(B) Other ... ... ...",
(
b
) by the deletion of the matter in the second, third, fourth and fifth columns of that Schedule at that tariff heading number,
(
c
) by the insertion in the second, third, fourth and fifth columns of that Schedule at tariff heading number 44.20 (A) (inserted by this Order) of "(
a
)", "75%", "50%" and "50%", respectively, and
(
d
) by the insertion in the second, third, fourth and fifth columns of that Schedule at tariff heading number 44.20 (B) (inserted by this Order) of "(

5. The duty of customs imposed by paragraph 5 of and mentioned at tariff heading number 44.27 (A) in the Schedule to the Principal Order is hereby varied—

) by the substitution for "50%" in the fourth and fifth columns of that Schedule at that tariff heading number of "33

6. The duty of customs imposed by paragraph 5 of and mentioned at tariff heading number 44.27 (D) in the Schedule to the Principal Order is hereby varied—

) by the substitution for "75%" in the third column of that Schedule at that tariff heading number of "50%", and

) by the substitution for "50%" in the fourth and fifth columns of that Schedule at that tariff heading number of "33

10. The duty of customs imposed by paragraph 5 of and mentioned at tariff heading number 94.03 (D) in the Schedule to the Principal Order is hereby varied—

12. The Imposition of Duties (No. 131) (Reduction of Rates of Customs Duties) Order, 1962 (
S.I. No. 214 of 1962
), shall apply and have effect in relation to goods to which this Order applies, other than goods mentioned at tariff heading number 44.20 (B) (inserted by this Order), 44.27 (A), 44.27 (D), 94.01 (A) (5) (
a
) (inserted by this Order), 94.01 (B) (6) (
b
) (inserted by this Order), 94.03 (C) (1) (
b
), 94.03 (D) (1) (
a
) (inserted by this Order), or 97.04 (B) (1) (inserted by this Order) in the Schedule to the Imposition of Duties (No. 128) (Customs Duties and Form of Customs Tariff) Order, 1962, as if this Order had come into operation immediately before the 1st day of January, 1963.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.
The effect of this Order is to reduce the rate of Customs duty on certain wooden furniture to 33

% (U.K. and Canada), ad valorem, with consequential changes in the other rates.

The Government, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by
section 1
of the
Imposition of Duties Act, 1957
(No. 7 of 1957), and
section 22
of the
Finance Act, 1962
(No. 15 of 1962), hereby order as follows
