1. This Order may be cited as the

Mental Treatment Act, 1961

, (Commencement) (No. 2) Order, 1961.

2. Sections 3, 6 to 12, 14 to 17, 19, 20 and 37 of the

Mental Treatment Act, 1961

, shall for all purposes come into operation on the 1st day of March, 1962.

3. Section 42 of the said Act shall come into operation on the 1st day of March, 1962, for the purpose of effecting the repeal of subsection (2) of

section 216

of the

Mental Treatment Act, 1945

(No. 19 of 1945).

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

The effect of this Order is to provide for the bringing into operation as from the 1st March, 1962, of the sections of the

Mental Treatment Act, 1961

, listed in paragraphs 2 and 3 of the Order. The remaining sections of that Act were brought into operation on the 1st April, 1961, (

section 43

of the

Mental Treatment Act, 1961

, (No. 7 of 1961), hereby orders as follows:—
