EXPLANATORY NOTE.

Consequent on the increase in the maximum rates of disability and unemployment benefit effected by the

Social Welfare (Amendment) Act, 1960

, these Regulations amend the Social Welfare (Disability, Unemployment and Marriage Benefit) Regulations, 1953, (

S.I. No. 7 of 1953

) for the purpose of increasing the reduced rates payable where the contribution condition in respect of the governing contribution year is only partially satisfied.

(No. 11 of 1952), and with the sanction of the Minister for Finance, hereby make the following Regulations:—

1.—(1) These Regulations may be cited as the Social Welfare (Disability, Unemployment and Marriage Benefit) (Amendment) Regulations, 1960.

(2) These Regulations and the Social Welfare (Disability, Unemployment and Marriage Benefit) Regulations, 1953 to 1956 may be cited collectively as the Social Welfare (Disability, Unemployment and Marriage Benefit) Regulations, 1953 to 1960.
