1. (1) This Order may be cited as the
Transport Act, 1944
(Alteration of Maximum Railway Charges of the County Donegal Railways Joint Committee and the Strabane and Letterkenny Railway Company) Order, 1958.
(2) The
Transport Act, 1944
(Alteration of Maximum Railway Charges of the County Donegal Railways Joint Committee and the Strabane and Letterkenny Railway Company) Orders, 1951 and 1956, and this Order may be cited together as the
Transport Act, 1944
(Alteration of Maximum Railway Charges of the County Donegal Railways Joint Committee and the Strabane and Letterkenny Railway Company) Orders, 1951 to 1958.
2. In this Order " the Principal Order " means the
Transport Act, 1944
(Alteration of Maximum Railway Charges of the County Donegal Railways Joint Committee and the Strabane and Letterkenny Railway Company) Order, 1951 (

).
3. (1) Each maximum charge specified or calculated in accordance with a rate specified in paragraph A of Part II of the Schedule to the Principal Order is hereby increased by twenty-four per cent., any fraction of a penny in the result that is less than a halfpenny being ignored and any such fraction that is a halfpenny or more being reckoned as a penny.
(2) The
Transport Act, 1944
(Alteration of Maximum Railway Charges of the County Donegal Railways Joint Committee and the Strabane and Letterkenny Railway Company) Order, 1956 (
S.I. No. 88 of 1956
), in so far as it increases each maximum charge specified or calculated in accordance with a rate specified in paragraph A of Part II of the Schedule to the Principal Order, shall cease to have effect and paragraph (1) of this Article shall have effect as if that Order had not been made.
(3) This Article shall come into operation on the 14th day of July, 1958.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.
The purpose of the Order is to increase by about 5% the maximum railway passenger fares of the County Donegal Railways Joint Committee and the Strabane and Letterkenny Railway Company.

section 89
of the
Transport Act, 1944
(No. 21 of 1944), hereby order as follows
