S.I. No. 101/1958 - Apprenticeship Committee For The Furniture Trade (Dublin) (Confirmation of Rules) Order, 1958.

1. This Order may be cited as the Apprenticeship Committee for the Furniture Trade (Dublin) (Confirmation of Rules) Order, 1958.

2. The

Interpretation Act, 1937

(No. 38 of 1937), applies to this Order.

3. The Rules set out in the Schedule to this Order are hereby confirmed and shall come into operation on the 21st day of April, 1958.

SCHEDULE.

The Rules of the Apprenticeship Committee for the Furniture Trade (Dublin) as set out in Apprenticeship Committee for the Furniture Trade (Dublin) (Confirmation of Rules) Order, 1946, (

), are hereby amended as follows, that is to say, by the deletion of the paragraph commencing with the words " Class B—Male Apprentices " under the heading " Rules Regulating the Number of Apprentices " and by the substitution therefor of the following :—

Class B.—Male Apprentices—ONE APPRENTICE to the first one skilled male worker in that Class of the Trade, and thereafter, one additional apprentice for each complete group of twenty skilled male workers in excess of the first twelve in that Class. This paragraph shall be in force for a period of six months only from the date of the Minister's Confirmatory Order.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

The purpose of this Order is to reduce, for a period of six months, the ratio of male apprentices to skilled workers in the upholstery branch of the furniture trade in the Dublin area.
