S.I. No. 261/1957 - Vital Statistics (Amendment) Regulations, 1957.

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Vital Statistics (Amendment) Regulations, 1957.

2. These Regulations shall come into operation on 1st day of January, 1958.

3. Article 3 of the Vital Statistics Regulations, 1954 (

S.I. No. 280 of 1954

) is hereby amended by—

(

a

) the substitution of " year " for " date " in paragraph (7) and

(

b

) the insertion in paragraph (8) of " by present or any previous husband " after " mother ".

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

These regulations provide that, in future, persons giving statistical information in relation to a birth under the Vital Statistics Regulations, 1954, will be required to give information under the heading " year of marriage of mother " instead of " date of marriage of mother " and under the heading " number of previous children of mother by her present or any previous husband ", instead of " number of previous children of mother ".

(No. 8 of 1952), hereby makes the following Regulations :—
