TRANSPORT ACT, 1944 (ALTERATION OF MAXIMUM RAILWAY CHARGES OF THE COUNTY DONEGAL RAILWAYS JOINT COMMITTEE AND THE STRABANE AND LETTERKENNY RAILWAY COMPANY) ORDER, 1953.

I, SEÁN F. LEMASS, Minister for Industry and Commerce, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by

section 89

of the

Transport Act, 1944

(No. 21 of 1944), hereby order as follows :—

1.—(1) This Order may be cited as the

Transport Act, 1944

(Alteration of Maximum Railway Charges of the County Donegal Railways Joint Committee and the Strabane and Letterkenny Railway Company) Order, 1953.

(2) The

Transport Act, 1944

(Alteration of Maximum Railway Charges of the County Donegal Railways Joint Committee and the Strabane and Letterkenny Railway Company) Order, 1951 (

S.I. No. 277 of 1951

), and this Order may be cited together as the

Transport Act, 1944

(Alteration of Maximum Railway Charges of the County Donegal Railways Joint Committee and the Strabane and Letterkenny Railway Company) Orders, 1951 and 1953.

2.—(1) Each maximum charge specified or calculated in accordance with a rate specified, in the Schedule to the

Transport Act, 1944

(Alteration of Maximum Railway Charges of the County Donegal Railways Joint Committee and the Strabane and Letterkenny Railway Company) Order, 1951, is hereby increased by seven and one half per cent., any fraction of a penny in the result that is less than a halfpenny being ignored and any such fraction that is a halfpenny or more being reckoned as a penny.

(2) Paragraph (1) of this Article shall come into operation on the 22nd day of October, 1953.
