2. The

Interpretation Act, 1937

(No. 38 of 1937), applies to these Regulations.

3. Subparagraph (

d

) of paragraph (1) of Article 4 of the Gárda Síochana (Appointments) Regulations, 1945 (

S. R. & O. No. 173 of 1945

), (which prescribes the general age limits for enrolment in the Force) is hereby amended by the substitution of " 25 years " for " 23 years."

section 14

of the

Police Forces Amalgamation Act, 1925

(No. 7 of 1925), and of every and any other power me in this behalf enabling, hereby order as follows :—

1.—(1) These Regulations may be cited as the Gárda Síochána (Appointments) Regulations, 1945 (Amendment) Regulations, 1953.

(2) These Regulations shall come into operation on the 10th day of September, 1953.
