S.I. No. 157/1940 - Wild Birds (County Cork) Order, 1940.

1. —This Order may be cited as the Wild Birds (County Cork) Order, 1940.

2. —The

Interpretation Act, 1937

(No. 38 of 1937) applies to, this Order.

3. —The close time in the County of Cork in respect of the following kinds of wild birds, that is to say :—bittern, chough, spoonbill, avocet, flamingo, hoopoe, goldfinch, linnet, chaffinch, redpoll, siskin, skylark, kingfisher, kestrel, owl (all kinds), andwagtail (all kinds), is hereby extended to the 1st day of December to the intent that the close time in the said county for the said kinds of wild birds shall be the period between the 1st day of March and the 1st day of December (both days inclusive) in every year.

WILD BIRDS (COUNTY CORK) ORDER, 1940.

Order from the MINISTER FOR JUSTICE.

WHEREAS it is enacted by sub-section (2) of

section 2

of the

Wild Birds Protection Act, 1930

(No. 16 of 1930), that the Minister for Justice may by order made on the application of the council of a county or a county borough extend or vary in such county or county borough the close time in respect of all wild birds or any particular kinds or kind of wild birds

AND WHEREAS the Council of the County of Cork has applied to the Minister for Justice to make an order under the said sub-section extending until the 1st day of December in every year the close time in the County of Cork in respect of the kinds of wild birds hereinafter mentioned

NOW, I, GERALD BOLAND, Minister for Justice, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by sub-section (2) of

section 2

of the

Wild Birds Protection Act, 1930

(No. 16 of 1930), and of every and any other power me in this behalf enabling, hereby order as follows :—
