The Constitutional Court of Portugal rejected the U.D.P.'s contentious appeal regarding its election candidate list for the Flores Islands constituency. The party sought to challenge the validity of Acórdão nº 988/96, which was signed on the same day as this decision. The Court determined that the appeal was procedurally inadmissible because it targeted a judgment rendered by the Tribunal itself.
