The Constitutional Court of Portugal rejected the challenge to Article 11(1)(a) of Decree-Law 454/91, which limits public access to court records. The Ministry of Public Prosecution argued the restriction violated constitutional principles, while the applicants contended it hindered judicial transparency. The court ruled that the law is constitutional because it serves the legitimate aim of protecting the privacy of parties and the integrity of judicial proceedings.
