The Constitutional Court suspended the constitutionality challenge against the amnesties law pending the lower criminal court's final ruling. The Ministry of Public Prosecution argued that the court's jurisdiction was limited to the specific appeal, while the defendant's case hinged on whether the lower court would apply the amnesties law to extinguish the criminal proceedings. The court decided to suspend the instance because the lower court's application of the amnesties law could decisively influence the outcome of the constitutional review.
