Constitutional court suspends review pending lower court's amnesties application decision on criminal charges.
Legislator summary
AI generatedThe Constitutional Court suspended the constitutional challenge against the amnesties law pending the lower court's definitive ruling on the specific criminal charges. The Ministry of Public Prosecution argued that the court's jurisdiction was limited to the specific appeal matter, while the applicant contended the law's application required immediate judicial review. The court decided to halt proceedings because the lower court's application of the amnesties law would decisively determine the fate of the criminal case and thus the constitutionality of the law in this instance.
