When closing a deep geological repository, its owner must backfill all excavations of the repository and seal the sections relevant for long-term safety and security.

The closure project must describe the following aspects in particular: a. the backfilling and sealing of the accesses to the disposal areas; b. the transformation of the pilot section into a state suitable for long-term safety; c. the backfilling and sealing of the accesses to the repository; d. the assurance of long-term safety.

When closing the repository, the owner must in particular ensure: a. that no inadmissible release of radionuclides takes place via the backfilled accesses; b. that the separation of water-conducting rock layers existing prior to the construction of the deep geological repository is restored over the long-term; c. that the marking of the deep geological repository is permanent.

Der Eigentümer eines geologischen Tiefenlagers hat beim Verschluss sämtliche noch offenen Teile des Tiefenlagers zu verfüllen und die für die Langzeitsicherheit und die Sicherung massgebenden Teile zu versiegeln.

Er hat im Projekt für den Verschluss insbesondere folgendes zu umschreiben: a. das Verfüllen und Versiegeln der Zugänge zu den Lagerräumen; b. die Überführung des Pilotlagers in einen langfristig sicheren Zustand; c. das Verfüllen und Versiegeln der Zugänge zum Tiefenlager; d. die Gewährleistung der Langzeitsicherheit.

Mit dem Verschluss hat er insbesondere zu gewährleisten, dass: a. keine unzulässige Freisetzung von Radionukliden über die verfüllten Zugänge erfolgt; b. die vor der Errichtung des Tiefenlagers bestehende Trennung der wasserführenden Gesteinsschichten langfristig wieder hergestellt wird; c. die Markierung des geologischen Tiefenlagers dauerhaft ist.

Lors de la fermeture, le propriétaire d’un dépôt en couches géologiques profondes doit combler toutes les parties encore ouvertes du dépôt et en sceller les éléments qui comptent pour la sécurité à long terme et pour la sûreté.

Dans le projet de fermeture, il doit décrire en particulier: a. le comblement et le scellement des accès aux locaux de stockage; b. les travaux à accomplir pour amener le dépôt pilote à un état sûr à long terme; c. le comblement et le scellement des accès au dépôt en profondeur; d. la garantie de la sécurité à long terme.

En fermant le dépôt, il doit s’assurer en particulier: a. qu’aucune fuite inadmissible de radionucléides ne se produira par les accès au dépôt; b. que la séparation des couches aquifères retrouvera à long terme la configuration qui était la sienne avant la construction du dépôt; c. que le dépôt en couches géologiques profondes est signalé par un marquage durable.

Con la chiusura deve garantire in particolare che: a. attraverso gli accessi riempiti non avvenga un rilascio inammissibile di radionuclidi; b. la separazione delle falde acquifere esistente prima della costituzione del deposito in strati geologici profondi sia ripristinata a lungo termine; c. la demarcazione del deposito in strati geologici profondi sia duratura.
