The theoretical part provides basic knowledge of the following aspects relating to the animals being cared for: a. animal welfare legislation and other legislation relevant to the specific area; b. handling of animals with due care; c. hygiene in enclosures and premises, hygiene of material and persons, and prevention of infectious diseases; d. responsibilities, obligations and competencies of the persons caring for the animals; e. anatomy and physiology of the animal; and f. normal behaviour and needs of the animals as well as signs of anxiety, stress and suffering.

The theoretical part of training in accordance with Article 31 paragraph 5, 85 paragraph 2, 97 paragraph 2, 102 paragraph 2 or 4 or 103 letter e AniWO provides in-depth knowledge of the following aspects relating to the animals being cared for: {note: Amended by No I of the FDHA O of 20 Dec. 2024, in force since 1 Feb. 2025 ( AS 2025 22).} a. animal care and the care of sick and injured animals; b. feeding, in particular the composition of feed, physiological feed requirements and occupation in the context of feeding; c. housing requirements and design of the housing environment to enable species-specific behaviour; d. rearing animals and normal development of young animals; e. course of a normal birth or egg laying and the most common signs of birthing problems or egg binding; f. genetic theory, breeding methods and parentage tests; and g. breeding objectives and genetic defects.

The theoretical part of training in accordance with Article 102 paragraph 5 AniWO provides in-depth knowledge of the following aspects: a. animal care and the care of sick and injured animals; b. correct handling of animals; c. housing conditions that enable species-specific behaviour; d. providing the services with due care; e. cleaning and disinfection of rooms, enclosures and equipment. {note: Inserted by No I of the FDHA Ordinance of 23 Oct. 2013, in force since 1 Jan. 2014 ( AS 2013 3781).}

At least 10 hours of the theoretical part of training for persons who breed pets or working dogs commercially must deal with the areas described in paragraph 2letters d–g. {note: Inserted by No I of the FDHA O of 20 Dec. 2024, in force since 1 Feb. 2025 ( AS 2025 22).}

Der theoretische Teil vermittelt Grundkenntnisse über die betreuten Tiere in folgenden Bereichen: a. Tierschutzgesetzgebung sowie andere fachspezifisch relevante Gesetzgebungen; b. schonender Umgang mit Tieren; c. Hygiene in den Gehegen und Räumlichkeiten, Hygiene von Material und Personen sowie Prävention von Infektionskrankheiten; d. Verantwortung, Pflichten und Zuständigkeiten der die Tiere betreuenden Personen; e. Bau und Funktionsweise des Tieres; und f. Normalverhalten und Bedürfnisse der Tiere sowie Anzeichen von Angst, Stress und Leiden.

Für die Ausbildung nach Artikel 31 Absatz 5, 85 Absatz 2, 97 Absatz 2, 102 Absatz 2 oder 4 oder 103 Buchstabe e TSchV vermittelt der theoretische Teil vertiefte Kenntnisse über die betreuten Tiere in folgenden Bereichen: {note: Fassung gemäss Ziff. I der V des EDI vom 20. Dez. 2024, in Kraft seit 1. Febr. 2025 ( AS 2025 22).} a. Tierbetreuung sowie Pflege von kranken und verletzten Tieren; b. Fütterung, insbesondere Futterzusammensetzung, physiologischer Futterbedarf und Beschäftigung im Zusammenhang mit der Futteraufnahme; c. Haltungsansprüche und Gestaltung der Haltungsumwelt, die ein arttypisches Verhalten ermöglicht; d. Aufzucht von Tieren und normale Entwicklung von Jungtieren; e. Ablauf einer normalen Geburt oder Eiablage und häufigste Anzeichen von Geburtsstörungen oder Legenot; f. Vererbungslehre, Zuchtmethoden und Abstammungskontrollen; und g. Zuchtziele und Erbschäden.

Für die Ausbildung nach Artikel 102 Absatz 5 TSchV vermittelt der theoretische Teil vertiefte Kenntnisse in folgenden Bereichen: a. Tierbetreuung sowie Pflege von kranken und verletzten Tieren; b. fachgerechter Umgang mit den Tieren; c. Haltungsbedingungen, die ein arttypisches Verhalten ermöglichen; d. fachgerechte und schonende Durchführung der Dienstleistungen; e. In der Ausbildung von Personen, die gewerbsmässig Heimtiere oder Nutzhunde züchten, müssen mindestens 10 Stunden des theoretischen Teils für die Bereiche nach Absatz 2 Buchstaben d–g eingesetzt werden. {note: Eingefügt durch Ziff. partie théorique des formations visées aux art. 31, al. 5, 85, al. 2, 97, al. 2, 102, al. 2 ou 4, ou 103, let. e, OPAn permet d’acquérir des connaissances approfondies sur les animaux pris en charge dans les domaines suivants: {note: Nouvelle teneur selon le ch. I de l’O du DFI du 20 déc. 2024, en vigueur depuis le 1 er fév. 2025 ( RO 2025 22).} a. garde d’animaux en général et soins à prodiguer aux animaux malades ou blessés en particulier; b. alimentation des animaux, notamment composition des aliments, besoins alimentaires et occupation en rapport avec la prise de nourriture; c. exigences de détention et aménagement d’un environnement permettant l’expression des comportements typiques de l’espèce; d. élevage d’animaux et développement normal des jeunes animaux; e. déroulement normal d’une mise-bas ou d’une ponte et signes fréquents de problèmes de mise-bas ou de ponte; f. connaissances de base en génétique, méthodes d’élevage et contrôles d’ascendance; et g. objectifs d’élevage et anomalies génétiques.

La partie théorique de la formation visée à l’art. 102, al. 5, OPAn permet d’acquérir des connaissances approfondies dans les domaines suivants: a. prise en charge et soins à prodiguer aux animaux malades ou blessés; b. traitement adéquat des animaux; c . conditions de détention qui permettent l’expression des comportements typiques de l’espèce; d. exécution adéquate des services et manipulations qui ménagent les animaux; e. nettoyage et désinfection des locaux, des enclos et des appareils utilisés. {note: Introduit par le ch. La formation des personnes qui élèvent des animaux de compagnie ou des chiens utilitaires à titre professionnel doit comporter une partie théorique d’au moins 10 heures concernant les domaines visés à l’al. 2, let. d à g. {note: Introduit par le ch. I de l’O du DFI du 20 déc. 2024, en vigueur depuis le 1 er fév. 2025 ( RO 2025 22).}

La parte teorica permette di acquisire le nozioni fondamentali inerenti agli animali accuditi negli ambiti seguenti: a. legislazione sulla protezione degli animali e altre legislazioni specifiche rilevanti; b. trattamento rispettoso degli animali; c. igiene nei parchi e nei locali, igiene del materiale e delle persone nonché prevenzione delle malattie infettive; d. responsabilità, obblighi e competenze delle persone incaricate di accudire gli animali; e. anatomia e fisiologia degli animali; e f. comportamento normale ed esigenze degli animali nonché sintomi di ansietà, stress e sofferenza.

La parte teorica della formazione di cui agli articoli 31 capoverso 5, 85 capoverso 2, 97 capoverso 2, 102 capoverso 2 o 4 oppure 103 lettera e OPAn permette di acquisire conoscenze approfondite in merito agli animali accuditi negli ambiti seguenti: {note: Nuovo testo giusta la cifra I dell’O del DFI del 20 dic. 2024, in vigore il 1° feb. 2025 ( RU 2025 22).} a. accudimento nonché cura degli animali malati e feriti; b. alimentazione, in particolare composizione del foraggio, fabbisogno alimentare fisiologico ed esigenze comportamentali legate all’assunzione di cibo; c. esigenze di detenzione e allestimento di un ambiente che permetta agli animali di adottare il comportamento tipico della specie; d. allevamento degli animali e normale sviluppo della progenie; e. svolgimento normale del parto o della deposizione delle uova e sintomi più frequenti di disturbi alla nascita o di difficoltà nella deposizione delle uova; f. genetica, metodi di allevamento e controlli della discendenza; e g. obiettivi d’allevamento e tare ereditarie.

La parte teorica della formazione di cui all’articolo 102 capoverso 5 OPAn permette di acquisire conoscenze approfondite negli ambiti seguenti: a. accudimento nonché cura degli animali malati e feriti; b. trattamento corretto degli animali; c. condizioni di detenzione che permettano agli animali di adottare il comportamento tipico della specie; d. esecuzione dei servizi corretta e riguardosa; e. pulizia e disinfezione dei locali, dei parchi e degli apparecchi. {note: Introdotto dalla cifra I dell’O del DFI del 23 ott. 2013, in vigore il 1° gen. 2014 ( RU 2013 3781).}
