According to their functions and properties, additives are classified into one or more of the following categories: a. Category 1: Technological additives: all substances added to animal feed for technological purposes; b. Category 2: Sensory additives: all substances which, when added to animal feed, enhance or modify the organoleptic properties of the animal feed or the visual characteristics of food products derived from animals; c. Category 3: Nutritional additives: substances that have significant nutritional properties, such as vitamins, trace elements, amino acids, and urea derivatives; d. Category 4: Zootechnical additives: all additives used to favorably influence the performance of healthy animals or the environment; e. Category 5: Coccidiostats and histomonostats.

Within the categories referred to in para. 1, additives are distributed into one or more functional groups according to the nomenclature established by the Federal Department of Economic Affairs, Education and Research (EAER).

Where applicable, in light of advancements in scientific knowledge or technological progress, additional categories of additives and functional groups may be established by the EAER.

Futtermittelzusatzstoffe gehören je nach Funktionsweise und Eigenschaften einer oder mehreren der folgenden Kategorien an: a. Kategorie 1: technologische Futtermittelzusatzstoffe: jeder Stoff, der Futtermitteln aus technologischen Gründen zugesetzt wird; b. Kategorie 2: sensorische Futtermittelzusatzstoffe: jeder Stoff, der einem Futtermittel zugesetzt die organoleptischen Eigenschaften dieses Futtermittels beziehungsweise die optischen Eigenschaften des aus den Tieren gewonnenen Lebensmittels verbessert oder verändert; c. Kategorie 3: ernährungsphysiologische Futtermittelzusatzstoffe: Stoffe, die wichtige Nährfunktionen aufweisen wie Vitamine, Spurenelemente, Aminosäuren und Harnstoff-Derivate; d. Kategorie 4: zootechnische Futtermittelzusatzstoffe: jeder Futtermittelzusatzstoff, der die Leistung von gesunden Tieren oder die Auswirkungen auf die Umwelt positiv beeinflussen soll; e. Kategorie 5: Kokzidiostatika und Histomonostatika.

Innerhalb der Kategorien nach Absatz 1 werden die Futtermittelzusatzstoffe einer oder mehreren Funktionsgruppen entsprechend der vom WBF erstellten Nomenklatur zugeordnet.

Soweit es aufgrund des Fortschritts der technischen Erkenntnisse oder der wissenschaftlichen Entwicklungen erforderlich ist, legt das WBF weitere Kategorien und Funktionsgruppen für Futtermittelzusatzstoffe fest.

Selon leurs fonctions et leurs propriétés, les additifs sont classés dans une ou plusieurs des catégories suivantes: a. catégorie 1: additifs technologiques: toutes les substances ajoutées aux aliments pour animaux à des fins technologiques; b. catégorie 2: additifs sensoriels: toutes les substances qui, ajoutées à l’alimentation animale, améliorent ou modifient les propriétés organoleptiques des aliments pour animaux ou les caractéristiques visuelles des denrées alimentaires issues d’animaux; c. catégorie 3: additifs nutritionnels: substances qui présentent des propriétés nutritionnelles importantes, telles que les vitamines, les oligo-éléments, les acides aminés et les dérivés de l’urée; d. catégorie 4: additifs zootechniques: tous les additifs utilisés pour influencer favorablement les performances des animaux en bonne santé ou l’environnement; e. catégorie 5: coccidiostatiques et histomonostatiques.

Au sein des catégories visées à l’al. 1, les additifs sont répartis dans un ou plusieurs groupes fonctionnels selon la nomenclature établie par le DEFR.

Le cas échéant, à la lumière de l’évolution des connaissances scientifiques ou des progrès technologiques, des catégories d’additifs et des groupes fonctionnels supplémentaires peuvent être établis par le DEFR.

Gli additivi per alimenti per animali appartengono, a seconda delle loro funzioni e proprietà, a una o più delle seguenti categorie: a. categoria 1: additivi tecnologici: qualsiasi sostanza aggiunta agli alimenti per animali per scopi tecnologici; b. categoria 2: additivi organolettici: qualsiasi sostanza la cui aggiunta a un alimento per animali migliora o modifica le proprietà organolettiche dello stesso o le caratteristiche visive delle derrate alimentari di origine animale; c. categoria 3: additivi nutrizionali: sostanze che possiedono importanti funzioni nutritive, quali vitamine, oligoelementi, aminoacidi e derivati dell’urea; d. categoria 4: additivi zootecnici: sostanze che influenzano positivamente i parametri produttivi degli animali sani o l’ambiente; e. categoria 5: coccidiostatici e istomonostatici.

All’interno di ciascuna delle categorie di cui al capoverso 1 gli additivi per alimenti per animali sono classificati in uno o più gruppi funzionali a seconda della nomenclatura stabilita dal DEFR.

All’occorrenza, in seguito al progresso tecnologico o allo sviluppo scientifico, il DEFR può stabilire ulteriori categorie e gruppi funzionali di additivi per alimenti per animali.
