The High Court of Cassation and Justice rejected the request for the transfer of jurisdiction (strămutare) of Case No. 132/215/2005 from the Craiova Court, thereby ruling against the applicants; this decision is final and not subject to appeal. The dispute arose from a procedural motion by the applicants to move a civil case, which the Public Ministry opposed on the grounds that the underlying proceedings had already been concluded on December 11, 2013, rendering the transfer request moot. The court’s decisive basis for the rejection was the finding that the request lacked objective purpose ("rămásă fără obiect") because the case in question had already been adjudicated, thus eliminating the need for a change of venue.
