The court modified the decision to hold that non-pecuniary damages are generally inadmissible in workplace accident cases. The plaintiff argued for compensation based on personal suffering, while the employer contended that the law strictly limits liability to pecuniary losses. The court ruled that such damages are only available if the employer acted with intent or gross negligence, rejecting the broader interpretation of fault.
