The court of cassation overturned a decision because the appeal concerning only a request for provision *ad litem* (interim financial relief) took place in chambers, which is normally required only for divorce proceedings under a specific Civil Code article, not for such ancillary financial matters where public debate is the general rule. Although the law provides that a procedural irregularity does not lead to nullity if legal prescriptions were observed in fact, the case records did not establish that the general rule of public debate was met, thus constituting a violation of the applicable procedural and civil codes.
