A former candidate, initially registered for bar training in Algiers in 1954 without the required aptitude certificate (CAPA) because it was not demanded there at the time, later resigned and sought re-registration in a metropolitan bar in 1957 after a significant interruption, leading to a favorable decision by the lower courts that treated the second registration as non-original and maintained the CAPA exemption granted previously. The high court overturned this decision, reasoning that an interruption in the required three-year training period exceeding three months necessitates treating the subsequent registration as an original one, thereby subjecting the candidate to the legislation in force at that time, which required the CAPA.
