The Supreme Court dismissed the appeal against a lower court decision that had been annulled due to the respondent's absence. The lower court ordered the absent respondent to reimburse the state for the public defender's fees incurred for the victim. The court upheld this order because the procedural defect did not justify overturning the substantive liability for legal costs.
