Rakennusmies oli porannut reikää betoniin, jolloin poran terä oli osunut teräkseen ja poran lähtiessä voimakkaasti pyörimään rakennusmiehen kädet olivat vääntyneet ja hän oli saanut siitä iskun molempiin ranteisiin. Viikon kuluttua suoritetussa lääkärin tutkimuksissa hänellä oli todettu oikean ranteen veneluun vanhan murtuman jälkeinen valenivel sekä nivelrikkoa. VAKO epäsi korvauksen. IV -jaosto KKO 1.4.1985 katsoi, että tapaturma oli aiheuttanut äkillisen oikean ranteen iskutai nyrjähdysvamman, joka osaltaan eli arviolta puoliksi oli johtanut työkyvyttömyyteen.
