Dividend received by donee, not donor, taxed when shares changed hands after dividend right vested.
Legislator summary
AI generatedThe Administrative Court ruled that the dividend was taxable income for the donee, not the donor, because the shares changed hands after the dividend right vested. The donor had not retained any rights to the dividend, and the dividend became payable only to the registered shareholders on the payment date. Consequently, the court determined the income belonged to the recipient of the shares for the 2011 tax year.

Verovuosi 2011.
