Administrative court allows income from unrequested student loan rights in means-tested benefit calculations.
Legislator summary
AI generatedThe Administrative Court of Central Finland allowed the inclusion of a calculated student loan in the applicant's income for social assistance purposes. Although the applicants had not formally applied for the loan, they possessed a legal right to state-guaranteed student loan funds. The court ruled that because the primary income system for students includes the right to such loans, the calculated amount must be treated as income.
