Administrative court allowed employer claim for late tax surcharge due to postal strike closure.
Legislator summary
AI generatedThe Administrative Court of Finland allowed an employer's claim to pay a late tax surcharge because the payment was delayed by a postal strike. The employer argued that the local post office was closed due to a government-mandated strike, preventing the transfer of funds on the statutory deadline. The court ruled that this force majeure event, independent of the employer's will, justified the delay and exempted the employer from the penalty.

maksuunpanon. Katsottiin, että tilityksen myöhästyminen oli
aiheutunut työnantajasta riippumattomasta, lakon normaalille
maksumenettelylle aiheuttamasta esteestä.
