Homemakers' Social Security Contributions Not Discriminatory
Legislator-Zusammenfassung
KI-generiertThe court declared applications concerning the obligation of homemakers to pay social security contributions inadmissible. The applicants argued that requiring homemakers to pay contributions when their spouses were employed, while homemakers whose spouses were not employed were exempt, constituted discrimination. However, the court found that this obligation did not hinder family life and therefore did not violate the right to respect for private and family life, nor the prohibition of discrimination. Furthermore, while the obligation was civil in nature, it did not fall under the scope of "private law" as defined by the relevant protocol, making that provision inapplicable to social insurance disputes.

8 CEDU.
