The Swiss Federal Assembly approved the free trade agreement between the EFTA states and Tunisia, along with an arrangement concerning agricultural products. The Assembly's decision, based on constitutional articles and a foreign economic policy message, authorized the Federal Council to ratify these agreements. The federal decree explicitly stated that it would not be subject to the referendum process typically applied to international treaties.
