que par lettre du 2 octobre 2007, B.________ a déclaré retirer le recours en matière de droit public qu'il a interjeté le 14 septembre 2007 contre le jugement du 20 juillet 2007 du Tribunal cantonal des assurances du canton du Valais;

qu'il convient dès lors de radier sans frais la cause du rôle ( art. 66 al. 2 LTF ),

par ces motifs, le Président, vu l' art. 32 al. 2 LTF , ordonne:

1. La cause est rayée du rôle par suite de retrait du recours.

2. Il n'est pas perçu de frais de justice.

3. La présente ordonnance sera communiquée aux parties, au Tribunal cantonal des assurances du canton du Valais et à l'Office fédéral des assurances sociales.
